Over the last 12 months, Harry Hislop’s fast-growing electrical contracting business has been searching for more experienced electricians to serve clients across the South West from Bristol to Reading. Harry recruited Martin Philips in January but due to the company’s continued growth tracking at 30% year on year, he is already looking for another qualified electrician to join his friendly team. NVQ Level 3 is a basic requirement and an ECS Gold Card would be a bonus. In an unusual step, Harry is even offering a £500 “Finder’s fee” if the new recruit is still in post after 6 months.

Ten years ago, Harry set out to “redefine the reputation of tradespeople” and his approach is paying dividends. Just as Eddie Stobart’s uniformed truck drivers set new standards in the haulage industry, so HR Hislop does things differently too. Harry has set new standards of reliability and outstanding customer care in electrical contracting. Domestic customers and trade clients often comment on the team’s politeness, tidiness after completing a job, and their clean vans.

Why Work for HRHislop.com?

A team of office staff handle customer calls and emails quickly and efficiently, leaving 9 electricians and 3 apprentices free to focus purely on their work. Excellent organisational and project management skills mean that when Electricians arrive each day, all kit and materials have been pre-ordered and checked by office staff, ready for the next jobs. This prevents frustrating, time-wasting holdups and makes it easy for the guys to get on with things uninterrupted.

The variety of work is also very appealing. Domestic work ranges from new builds of bespoke 8-bed houses to high-end kitchens, to changing a light fitting for Mrs. M. Then there is the industrial, agricultural, commercial and building management services work to tackle. Harry runs a tight, paperless ship. Everything is digital and run by apps, so it’s goodbye to printed job sheets! Not only that, but Electricians can check their schedule online for the next fortnight. It’s a great place to work as demonstrated by the low staff turnover. The last electrician having left three years ago and Domestic Contracts Manager Mike Stagg has been with Harry from the start.

Harry says “We have a well-established, good reputation and get constant positive feedback from clients. I’m building a company you can be proud to work for so if you’re an honest, trustworthy, fully-qualified electrician with a full, clean driving licence, I’d love to hear from you”. Please send your CV to info@hrhislop.com or call 01249 554750. Applicants need easy access to the Devizes HQ. Further training is available to the right candidate with a positive attitude who will fit into the team. The £500 Finder’s Fee could be yours!
