Tips for staying safe:
- You should check all electrical items before you begin decorating and remove any damaged items.
- When putting electrical decorations outside make sure they are suitable for outside use.
- Use a residual current device (RCD) with all outdoor electrical decorations.
- Make sure that children or pets cannot trip, pull, or chew on the power cord and extension cord.
- Always used safety-approved electrical decorations.
- Don’t overload your sockets! Use ESF’s socket calculator to make sure yours are safe!
