Tips for staying safe:

  • You should check all electrical items before you begin decorating and remove any damaged items.
  • When putting electrical decorations outside make sure they are suitable for outside use.
  • Use a residual current device (RCD) with all outdoor electrical decorations.
  • Make sure that children or pets cannot trip, pull, or chew on the power cord and extension cord.
  • Always used safety-approved electrical decorations.
